چکیده

Current implementation of new technologies for Communication, Navigation, Surveillance and Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM systems) along with computational improvements on airborne and ground systems developed in the last two decades, point out the need for more strategic navigation and air-traffic control procedures based on four-dimensional (position plus time) trajectories. Moreover, the CNS/ATM infrastructure will help to achieve more shared real-time information among aircraft, airlines and air-traffic services providers (i.e. Air Traffic Control –ATCproviders, meteorological information providers and air space resources information providers). Then, general requirements for a next-generation of Air Traffic Management (ATM) system is that entities must share real-time information about aircraft state and intentions, air-space state and resources, meteorological conditions and forecast, etc. From this information coordinated and strategic actions should be carried out by them in order to achieve efficient and free of conflict 4D trajectories.

Human Computer Interactions in Next-Generation of Aircraft Smart Navigation Management Systems: Task Analysis and Architecture under an Agent-Oriented Methodological Approach

The limited efficiency of current air traffic systems will require a next-generation of Smart Air Traffic System (SATS) that relies on current technological advances. This challenge means a transition toward a new navigation and air-traffic procedures paradigm, where pilots and air traffic controllers perform and coordinate their activities according to new roles and technological supports. The...

User-based Vehicle Route Guidance in Urban Networks Based on Intelligent Multi Agents Systems and the ANT-Q Algorithm

Guiding vehicles to their destination under dynamic traffic conditions is an important topic in the field of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Nowadays, many complex systems can be controlled by using multi agent systems. Adaptation with the current condition is an important feature of the agents. In this research, formulation of dynamic guidance for vehicles has been investigated based...

Next Generation Air Transportation Systems: Human-Automation Interaction and Organizational Risks

Both the US and European Community are now undertaking major projects to double air traffic capacity. It is believed that this will demand a significant increase in automation and a redefinition of the human air traffic controller’s role to be that of a supervisor of the automation and an intelligent agent to make tactical decisions in off-normal situations. This paper discusses the associated ...

Regulating air traffic flow with coupled agents

The ability to provide flexible, automated management of air traffic is critical to meeting the ever increasing needs of the next generation air transportation systems. This problem is particularly complex as it requires the integration of many factors including, updated information (e.g., changing weather info), conflicting priorities (e.g., different airlines), limited resources (e.g., air tr...

A Multi-Agent System Architecture for Distributed Air Traffic Control

The next generation of air traffic control will require automation in order to meet safety, reliability, flexibility, and robustness demands in an environment of steadily increasing air traffic density. Optimization, however, is an inadequate paradigm for the design of a cooperative distributed air traffic control system. The problem stems from a fundamental limitation of von Neumann-Morgenster...
